QRP is operating with reduced transmit power, trying to maximise the distance you can communicate over without resorting to cranking up the power.
GO QRP Nights
This is a fun activity, or, if you're the competitive sort then go for it. It's designed to be a test of QRP operating skills, antenna efficiency, and equipment. The GO QRP NIGHT is held on the last Saturday of each month Winter times starts at 1930NZST and finishes 2100NZST - Summer times starts 2030 NZDT, and finishes 2200NZDT
We encourage the participation of all hams, even if you're QRO. Although only NZ QRPers Group members are eligible for the points competition, non-members are more than welcome to take part and give a signal report to members who will be seeking contacts for points.
